About Me

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog.

I’m Cat, and I think I’m a fairly ordinary sort of person; I’m in my early 30s, I do the school run in my jogging bottoms,  I go on Facebook a lot, am a big fan of cake, and I enjoy a Saturday night in with Strictly..!

I’m not a massive expert in anything in particular, but I get ideas in my head about stuff that I’d like to do, or I think someone ought to do, and I just chip away at it until I can find a way to get it done.  Initially, I didn’t realise that not everyone does this, until a random conversation with a friend brought up the unexpected fact that she found me ‘inspirational’. It struck me as a bit odd at first, because I hadn’t really thought about it, and when I did I wasn’t sure how comfortable I was with the label – flattered, of course, but feeling ultimately that I probably didn’t deserve it. I’m just me… I’m just ordinary.

So fast forward a few years, a few more life experiences, and I’m starting a blog. The inspirational thing still feels a bit weird, but here’s what I think: we are all wonderful, ordinary, inspirational people. Something that I think is quite normal, someone else may be amazed by; and likewise I am often astounded by things I learn from my friends, and the things that they can do with ease that it wouldn’t even occur to me to try. Most people, I think, don’t realise that inspiration works two ways – it’s easy to feel inadequate by comparing yourself to someone you look up to, without realising or acknowledging that they also have insecurities and self-doubt.

My hope for this blog is that it becomes a forum for inspiration – both from stuff that I find on the web to share with you, and from ordinary people like me and you.

I look forward to sharing my story with you, and to hearing yours 🙂
